The agrarian question in southwestern Colombia: Nariño, the land structure and its social expression
Main Article Content
Abstract
The theoretical elements of the agrarian question in the development of capitalism are presented, which implies referring to the analyses that have been elaborated on the problem of the configuration of the agrarian "reality"; in which diverse tensions articulate in the appropriation of land, productive processes, definition of income, and the political determination of space, which configures the existence of the territory, are gestated and articulated. These concepts are used for the understanding of the agrarian processes in Colombia, to focus on the study of the agrarian question in the department of Nariño, where the dynamics that have configured the spatial arrangement with tensions between environmental and productive arrangements, the concentration of land that is accentuated despite the large number of micro-holdings in the department, and the failures of the agrarian reforms in this territory that affected a very low percentage of the territory since the 1970s, are exposed.
